A novel model predictive control strategy of D-PMSG wind turbine systems for LVRT based on two-state unloading resistance and super capacitor

Abstract For low voltage ride through (LVRT) of the wind power generation system, rotor energy storage and super capacitor are promising options. When cooperates with for LVRT, DC will undulate violently due to speed fluctuation. To solve this problem, a crowbar circuit topology its control strategy including unloading resistance proposed in paper. During process resistor absorb energies together. In doing so, bus fluctuation be suppressed by changing value resistance. The method can effectively reduce capacity capacitor, further decrease hardware cost. By adding penalty term current change rate cost function using model predictive (MPC), is reduced realization storage. performances LVRT validated simulation results.
